Kanalco
architectural panels offer standard thickness ranges from 6 mm (1/4") glazing
panels to 100 mm (4") insulated composite panels. Panels are offered in a
variety of finishes, substrates and cores to suit most design requirements, for
institutional, commercial, industrial and residential applications. Panels are
available in clear and bronze adonized, painted and porcelain finishes,
ensuring excellent colour uniformity and quality throughout the job.
The long term performance of Kanalco panels is excellent. Finishes are
guaranteed against chipping, peeling, chalking, and fading when properly
maintained.
 Longevity: Stainless outlasts other
materials. Under normal conditions, it has a nearly unlimited life-span. This
eliminates the need for replacement.
Easy Maintenance: Painting or re-finishing
of stainless building products is eliminated. The only cleaning generally
required is washing with detergent and water. In inaccessible areas, rainfall
is normally sufficient to keep stainless clean.
Attractive Appearance:
Stainless is a bright, clean-looking material that blends well with all
kinds of building materials. Its reflective quality complements and highlights
everything around it.
Corrosion Resistance: There is no possibility of
corrosive surfaces forming on stainless steel and staining adjacent materials.
The presence of chromium in stainless steel forms an invisible, tenacious and
highly protective chrome oxide film on the surface thereby creating a metal
with infinite longevity.
Cost: The cost comparison of building
materials is unrealistic if only initial outlay is considered. Total cost
includes insurance, maintenance, custodial care, replacement and other factors.
Of these, maintenance generally represents the highest cost. Stainless steel is
recognized as a long-lasting, easily maintained material for both interior and
exterior architectural applications. Its smooth, dense, corrosion-resistant
surface minimizes the adhesion of dirt and maintenance

For
non-loadbearing use only.
PERFORMANCE LIMITATIONS: Hardboard Substrates: The
use of hardboard substrates on both sides of the panel is recommended. Panels
without hardboard substrates are potentially subject to oil canning,
particularly with darker colours and large size panels. Kanalco Ltd. accepts no
responsibility for panels without hardboard.

| INSTALLATION |
Panels should be
installed in frames using flexible setting blocks at quarter point along bottom
edge with a minimum clearance space of 6 mm (1/4") around panel perimeter to
allow for thermal expansion. The frame in which the panel is to be installed
should be sealed against water penetration by sealing joints with butyl tape
and/or elastomeric caulking sealant. After panels are installed, they should be
caulked on the exterior with an elastomeric sealant. The space between the
interior glass stop and panel should be fitted with an EPDM gasket.
Weep holes should
be drilled where practical. Caution: moisture on exposed panel edges can cause
significant deterioration of finish and thermal performance.
Veneer panels with
loose insulation behing them should be back-caulked with a minimum of 6 mil
vapour barrier be installed on the warm side, to eliminate the formation of
condensation.
